Toby Turpin
Toby is the infamous ‘triple threat’ of performance: he can sing, dance and act! He first came to the attention of SYDF, in 2010, for his skill at Irish dance. What we weren’t aware of (but would be very soon) was the breadth of Toby’s talent. Early work included roles in a Novotel advert, in Hairspray at Dartford’s Orchard Theatre and in a music video for Danny Howard & Futuristic Polar Bears!
Alongside school, Toby continued to develop his craft and build an impressive list of credits. His burgeoning career took him (among other places) to the Edinburgh Festival for the musical 13, to Shakespeare’s Globe theatre with the Globe Young Players and to London’s Adelphi Theatre for the National Youth Music Theatre 40th anniversary gala.
Toby trained at Emil Dale Academy and at Arts Educational Schools, where he graduated with BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre. Since 2022 he has featured in the cast of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, where he is currently 1st Cover Emcee and 1st Cover Ernst. We are also delighted to have had Toby perform at several SYDF fundraising events.
